Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Mother's Day" Blog Hop!

We're so happy you could join us today to honor Mothers, Daughters, Aunts or any other woman who has been a great influence in our lives!

You should have arrived from Carolyn.  If you happened by my blog or are joining me from your dashboard, head over to Miranda's blog to start at the beginning.
We don't want you to miss any of the fun!

In addition to seeing a lot of awesome projects, there is some blog candy available too.  Miranda will be giving away a Michael’s or JoAnn's gift card (winner's choice).  To be eligible for the blog candy, you are required to visit each stop in the hop and leave a comment!
The winner will be announced Wednesday, May 15th on Miranda's blog!

I made three different cards for this hop and sent them along to various folks for Mother's Day.  The first went out to my mother-in-law in Edmond, Oklahoma, and uses a KennyK digital image and sentiment from Close To My Heart:
The second card--a clean and simple look--went out to my oldest son's stepmother:
I know that sounds a little weird, sending a card to your son's stepmother, but I just wanted to let her know how much I appreciate the things she does in his life.

The last card is for my own dear, sweet mother:
The inspiration for this one came from a card I found on Pinterest.  I modified mine just a little bit, since I used a smaller card, but I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.  I hope my mom likes it!

Next on the hop is Sarah Mae!!!

Should you get lost along the way, here is the entire line up:

April Showers Bring May Flowers Blog Hop winner!

Sorry for the lateness in posting the winner of the stamp set from the April Showers Bring May flowers blog hop!  Please contact me by May 1 using the contact tab above with your correct address so I can get your stamp set ordered for you, and be sure to let me know which of the two stamp sets you'd like.  Congratulations to BETH who said:

I love your cards! A new follower and my favorite part of spring is the huge vase of my favorite flowers- lilacs- that are only here for a couple of weeks but smell so glorious on my desk! They always signal spring to me!

April Showers Bring May Flowers Blog Hop

Welcome to the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" Blog Hop!

We're so happy you could join us today!

You should have arrived from Angela.  If you happened by my blog or are joining me from your dashboard, head over to Miranda's blog blog to start at the beginning.  We don't want you to miss any of the fun!

We will be showcasing spring-like projects or projects with a rain or flower theme!  In addition to seeing a lot of awesome creations, there is some blog candy available, too.  Miranda will be giving away a gift card to either Michael's or JoAnn's (winner's choice).  To be eligible for the blog candy, you are required to visit each stop in the hop and leave a comment!  The winner will be announced Wednesday, April 24, on Miranda's blog!  Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post, as I may have some candy, too (HINT, HINT!)!

I initially made this card for a card challenge I was participating in and then realized it would work PERFECTLY for this blog hop!  I card-lifted from one I saw in a magazine, and I think this one turned out quite lovely.  I used a set of Sizzix dies in three different sizes and used pop dots to adhere them together for some extra dimension.  The Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder came in handy for use on the background and on the small blue piece on the front.  The ribbon and gem were both from my stash; the punches were ones I found in my punch drawer, but I couldn't find the names to them (I guess I need to use them more!).  I decided to add another image and sentiment on the inside, so I added the yellow cardstock and stamped in royal blue ink from Studio G.  The image and sentiments are all from the same set, boots4rain from The {Stamps} of Life.

I hope you're enjoying the hop so far!  To thank you for stopping by, I've got some blog candy to give away.  The winner will have her choice of either the boots4rain stamp set or umbrella4you stamp set from The {Stamps} of Life.  There are only a couple of things you need to do:  (1) become a follower if you're not already (if you are, just let me know), and (2) leave a comment telling me what your favorite part about spring is.  That's it!  I'll draw a winner on Tuesday, April 23 and will post the winner on my blog.

Now you can hop on over to Lluvia.  Should you get lost along the way, here is the entire lineup:

Ashley <=== YOU ARE HERE!
Lluvia <===GO HERE NEXT!

Thanks for joining us!  Enjoy the rest of the hop!
P.S.  If you get the chance, check out my new food/photography/travel blog here.  It's a work in progress, but I hope it's going to be GREAT!

LiaStampz Challenge #39--FOOD!

It's time for another great challenge at LiaStampz!  Challenge #39 is all about FOOD!  We want to see your projects with any type of foods or anything food related.  I used the "Lia Cooking" image for this fun card:
The "Bon appetit" sentiment is from the Bon Appetit set from There She Goes Clear Stamps, using a Studio G ink.  All three papers are from the DCWV Nana's Kitchen Stack, the ribbons are from my stash, and I used Crayola and RoseArt colored pencils to color the image.

We can't WAIT to see your food projects!  If yours is a little quirky or something very striking, you may just end up in the guest spotlight.  A LiaStampz image is not required on your project, but you'll be entered in the random draw TWO times if you do!  You've got until April 29 to get your project linked up at the LiaStampz site.  Good luck, and happy scrappin'!

My Dad

I think this is my last post for today!  One of our monthly layout challenges for March at Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' is to either use someone else's journaling or to journal in their words.  I decided to create this layout in my youngest son, Joseph's, words:
I had Sketch #105 from Sketches in Thyme in mind when I created this.
I hope my husband doesn't see this before Father's Day, because I think I'll frame it and give it to him as a Father's Day gift from Joseph.  I'm also entering this at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges, as their challenge this week is Clean & Simple (It's a LMLC Design Team entry, too!).

I'll be back later this week with more projects, as I've got a few more things on my list that I want to make.  Have a great week, everyone, and happy scrapping!

The Crafting Cafe March Challenge

The March challenge at The Crafting Cafe is to use your favorite color.  I had a SLIGHT problem in the fact that I have SEVERAL favorite colors, so I decided to combine them all into one card!
The sentiments are from the Fiskars stamp set "So Much Thanks," and I used Studio G pigment inks in five different colors.  I saw a card similar to this in Paper Crafts Tips & Tricks magazine, so I thought I'd try one myself.  I think it turned out pretty good!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy scrapping!
